My brother (skinny boy on the left) who is 3 years older than I am is having open heart surgery tomorrow. I am fearful, but thank God, I am also filled with Peace & my Faith.

I am so very grateful that I am able to be present, should I be needed, but also filled with gratitude that I “get” to be available for my family. Just a few years ago… that would not have been the case.

Special thanks to my friend – Amanda MBB – for giving me the heads up on this awesome song, the lyrics give me much peace for this part of the journey.

STILL

by Hillary Scott

I believe that You are God alone
But sometimes I still try to take control
Cause I get scared when I can’t see the end
And all You want from me is to let go

You’re parting waters
Making a way for me
You’re moving mountains that I don’t even see
You’ve answered my prayer before I even speak
All You need for me to be is still

I bring my praise before I bring my need
Cause there’s no fear You’ve not already seen
I rest my heart on all Your promises
Cause I have seen and know Your faithfulness

You’re parting waters
Making a way for me
You’re moving mountains that I don’t even see
You’ve answered my prayer before I even speak
All You need for me to be is still

And know that You are God
Be still
And know that You, trust that You are parting waters
Lord, You whispered my name
Oh, You answered my prayer
You’re moving mountains

You’re parting waters
Making a way for me
You’re moving mountains that I don’t even see
You’ve answered my prayer before I even speak
All You need for me to be is still
Be still

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your amazing and abundant graces in my life.

Please be with those who will be taking care of my brother, tomorrow and throughout his recovery.

Guide the hands of the doctors and nurses, hear and answer their prayers.

Please keep my brother’s wife and his beautiful daughters wrapped in your loving arms during this part of their journey.

Restore my brother to good health and may his recovery be swift and complete.

Help me to be “still” so that I may be of maximum service to my family!

Thy will, not mine!

Amen
