graduation, engagement, surgery and more…

Graduation month begins with great anticipation…

Graduation, engagement, surgery and more… oh what a whirlwind the month of August has been! And so began our last visit to “the loveliest village on the plains” as parents of a current student. We rented the cutest little house, “the orange & blue – gameday house,” through AirBNB. Emily needed a place to stay for her last week at Auburn and we needed a location for the graduation party! Having stayed at this house several times and really loving everything about this home, we recommend this as a location for your next visit to Auburn University.

Emily spent the first few days of the week wrapping up her review session for the dreaded NCLEX, with members of her nursing cohort, and we drove in and joined her Thursday evening.

Friday found us running around getting last minute things done, which included having Graduation photos taken by the lovely and talented Sydney Bruton (check out her amazing work here). Em’s session was scheduled for that afternoon and by then it was raining buckets. A little/lot of rain did not stop the fun and the photos Sydney took really capture our spunky girl!

Look out world – here I come!!!

After getting home and drying off (did I mention it was raining?) our next stop was dinner. So where do we go??? Well we go to our favorite Italian restaurant – Venditori’s. Can you say… yummy garlic rolls dripping in butter & garlic??? Gotta love unlimited salad and garlic rolls!!!

The weekend included a joint graduation “and more” party with dear friends – Mike & Juli. Mike is receiving his M.Ed. at the same time Emily is receiving her BSN, so after dinner it was time to go home and rest up for the long day ahead.

Next stop, graduation!
