Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop!

Today’s Blog Hop is filled with projects inspired by a Spring Celebrations theme. What fun!

Stampin’ Up! catalogs are filled with so many great ideas for Spring-themed projects – Easter, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Spring weddings. We are excited to share our creations with you today. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

After a great night with a few other local Stampin’ Up! demonstrators at the Gatewood Road, Ronald McDonald House here in Atlanta, I came home and continued my evening filled with gratitude by creating my card for this hop! I have so much to be thankful for… and tonight I am most thankful for laughter. For an hour Merity, Anne & I got to share what we love with families that are dealing with a variety of serious childhood illnesses. Our first few friends were children (and a few moms) and they were smiling and enjoyed creating their cards! Towards the end of the hour, the young parents, the grandfather, and the aunt of a 3-month old came in (after being dragged in – yep we are like that) to create with us. My goal while there, every month, is to give the families a break – maybe just a few minutes to take their mind off of things. I am a bit of a cut-up (shocker i know) and just a few minutes later we were all “belly laughing” and I could actually see their faces and bodies relax just a bit – what a blessing! If you want to hear more about Stampin’ Up! & RMHC comment below or send me an e-mail and I’ll fill you in!

ON TO THE CARD…

I wanted to create a Mother’s Day card so using just a few supplies & a little creativity here is my card:

The supplies I used are at the end of this post (if you need to order anything… just click on the image & off to my store you will fly). If you are interested in the card recipe you can click on the TAMS link (just above the product list) for step-by-step instructions.

I love the glassine sheets and knew that I wanted to stamp a bold flower on mine. I used my Definitely Dahlia stamp and calypso coral ink. When I was finished I decided I needed a little extra color saturation so “in-color doilies” to the rescue – watermelon wonder to be specific. Once I placed that doily behind the center of the flower I was very pleased with the results. Here is a peak at the way the doily looks attached to the dsp. And speaking of dsp the Succulent Garden dsp is just beautiful!

Time for a sentiment… and a few questions:

  1. What type/shape of sentiment???
  2. How to add sentiment without covering up the flower???
  3. Once created, where shall I put the sentiment???

Well a banner seemed to be just the thing. So I stamped my sentiment on whisper white using, you guessed it, calypso coral ink. I also punched the duet banner using calypso coral paper and attached both banners to create my color offset. Add a little gold bling, a little dimension, pop it up on the top left corner (tilted a little – just like me) and voila my card is complete!
